Rion Homes has been building in North Carolina and the Lake Norman area for over 10 years.  Our “one of a kind” custom homes have ranged from $200,000 to $900,000.  With special requests from existing clients and their friends, we ventured into remodeling and addition projects in 2002 and have established a niche updating and expanding older homes around the lake.  Our renovation projects range from $8,000 to $350,000.

Rion Homes has received recognition for a number of our projects:

NICOLE GOOLSBY
Certified Green Professional
NC Accredited Master Builder
NC Certified Renovator

Nicole, President of Rion Homes,  has been involved in the new home real estate industry for over 20 years with a broad spectrum of experience ranging from financing to sales to construction.  Her construction experience as a Lake Norman builder began in 1996 with a local land development and production building company.  In 2000, she became a NC licensed General Contractor and founded Rion Homes.

Nicole is originally from Canada but has spent the majority of her life in the southeastern United States.  As an economics major from the University of Richmond, she strives to operate in a business environment based on integrity, honesty, and trust.  Being a female builder and the mother of three, she puts exceptional effort towards making a house a home and providing a rewarding building experience for her clients.

Nicole's construction experience began early in junior high when she worked on church service projects by making homes "warm and dry" in the Appalachian Mountains. She has also worked on a number of Habitat for Humanity homes and especially enjoys involvement in the Women's Build Program.

Creating unique homes for the individual families who call them home is a passion for Nicole.  Since her preteen days when she would climb into the rafters of houses under construction, smell the new lumber and imagine finished rooms, the excitement of a home being built has never waned.

Nicole has been involved with National Association of Home Builders for over 15 years.  She has served on various committees and boards for the Lake Norman HBA, the North Carolina HBA and in 2006 was elected as the NAHB Professional Women in Building Council Chairman.  Currently she serves as the Lake Norman HBA 2010 Vice President and NAHB Joint Councils committee chairman.  Nicole was also asked to build the 2001 Showcase Home for the LNHBA, which appeared in the Regatta of Homes tour.  That same year she was named the 2001 LNHBA Builder Member of the Year for her exemplary commitment to the home building industry and the Association.

GUS SCHNITKER
CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

Rion Homes is proud to introduce August “Gus” Schnitker, Rion Homes’ Construction Superintendent.  Gus began his construction career during his teenage years because he loved being creative.  At age 21, Gus became foreman for Richard Kelly Constructors and in two short years started his own framing company in Michigan after passing the builders exam.

In the mid 90’s, Gus tired of the Michigan winters and relocated to Florida where building was booming.  He was a framing crew foreman and project manager for a number of years.  In 2005 Gus was recruited by a national production builder as a residential building superintendent.

Two years ago, Gus relocated to the Charlotte area and brought with him 24 years of hands on building and management experience.  “The beauty and style of the Lake Norman homes drew me to the Charlotte region.  Rion Homes offers me an opportunity to build homes that I can be proud of for years to come.”  We are delighted to have a builder with an eye for detail and the construction knowledge Gus has as part of our team.
